I’m interested in the language of abstraction. I strive to create quiet, poetic pieces that invite the viewer to look and look again more closely. Intimate scale invites a one-on-one conversation, perhaps at times it even whispers, but the pieces are quietly complex.
Details attract me. In the nuances of detail I find larger abstract issues. There is a sense of mystery in recognizing, questioning, lingering, reflecting and letting the mind move naturally on. In this mystery there is a shared moment of beauty and reflection.
Believing in the power of simplicity, I approach my work with economy and restraint. Spatial relationships create a sense of place and time. Color is my language of choice. I respond to the piece spontaneously and enjoy the sense of history created in mark making. Each piece becoming a record of myself.
